The Kaiser criticises his staff for neglecting a briefing in SHOULDER ARMS. I’m reading Glen David Gold’s Sunnyside as slowly as possible to prolong the pleasure, and watching along with the book — viewing the Chaplin films dealt with in the text as they come up. I’m not sure if there are going to be more than two, but I suspect so: the titular SUNNYSIDE would seem a likely candidate, after all. SHOULDER ARMS is the film Chaplin’s friends advised him not to make.

top this. It is not that I am unsympathetic to those jonesing for a fix or a drink. I understand in theory.   The closet I came to drug use involved Motrin and infected gums. And I like wine. About once a month.  Or so. It has been proven that endorphins are released when one is shopping. So my monkey on the back has physical roots as well. Drugs will alsways be there.  Ditto for alcohol. But how often can you buy a thierry rabotin shoe marked down to $150 from 435 dollars? Okay, drugs make you high.

You have lived your life making sure that so many others are well cared for, from the time you were a child to the present. I hope that on your birthday, you allow others to treat you specially! You told me by phone just the other day that maybe I should just sit back and let my family take care of me just as I take care of them all the time.

My love of the human face comes in to play here. I began by blocking in the shape of his head. I wanted it to be sculptural, like it was practically a monument sitting on his stumpy shoulders. I thought the guy needed a wide face with narrow set eyes framed with those funky round glasses to further accentuate the chunky head look.

It’s nice to head over to B Restaurant at Yerba Buena Gardens on a warm late afternoon early evening and have a pitcher of Sangria. Sometimes it tastes better than other times. I’ve had good ones and some really bitter ones but still the ambiance is nice but only on a warm day. On cold days skip the sangria and have a glass of hearty red wine. But it’s nice most of the time when the sangria tastes good. The sangria is part of their happy hour menu it’s quite a nice deal about 9 bucks for a pitcher and it gives you 2 1/2 glasses.

Resveratrol Supplements One of the great mysteries of dietetic science is the so called “French Paradox” – the French eat foods that are high in calories, high in fat, and wash it down with gallons of red wine, and have a typical healthy life span that’s nearly four years longer than an American who eats similarly. This fact isn’t coincidental. The real solution to the mystery seems to be resveratrol. Resveratrol is produced by some plants, mainly in the skins of fruit, to guard against bacteria and infection, and is a powerful antioxidant.

How To Host a Wine Tasting Resveratrol is a phytoalexin, a chemical compound that is found naturally in some plants. It is referred to as a phytoalexin because the plants produce the natural compound as an antibiotic substance to ward off fungi, bacteria and other pathogenic attacks. Resveratrol is found in red grapes, (skin, seeds and vines), in mulberries, raspberries, cranberries and blueberries, in peanuts, certain pine trees and also in the Japanese knotweed plant.
