How is it that spilling wine brings good luck?

BTW, the "Baptized" the woman was originally from Italy, so maybe something Italian, a European thing, or even a universal thing (and I never heard of it before) is to say good luck to spill the wine ? Anyone heard of this before? Anyone know where it originated or? I 'd like to add, I ate only one glass of wine (first), such as glass derramé I had just been completed – I wasn' t drink.

Italy has always inspired romance in people. When-ever you hear about Italy, there is that feeling of it being synonymous with romance, boasting of rich tradition of lovers, one being the excesses of legendary Latin lover Casanova. Walking through those narrow little streets in Rome can be equalled to very few of the romantic experience that you have ever had. Never-the-less, as you travel through Italy, you would need to be in touch with your associates, friends and your family back home.

To many outsiders the Italian diet is a carbaholic’s dream, but really there is a lot more to it than that. The following are the top ten reasons why the Italians have the most healthy diet and attitude to food in the world, this can be proven by their low obesity rate, longevity statistics, and the general better health of the Italian race.

A glass or two of red wine may increase a woman’s libido, a scientific study has found. By Roger Dobson Chemical compounds found in red wine may improve blood flow Photo: GETTY Researchers concluded that levels of sexual desire were higher in women who were moderate drinkers of red wine than in their counterparts who preferred other alcoholic drinks, or were teetotal. One theory put forward by the team of Italian doctors who carried out the study is that chemical compounds found in red wine may improve sexual functioning by increasing blood flow to key areas of the body.

Amazon.com Review Too bad the essence of Rome can’t be bottled and exported to a corner store near you. If it could, you could pick up a weekend’s worth of Rome along with your pint of milk and Snickers bar, and you’d probably never get to repainting the stairs, doing the laundry, or watching that new video release. Instead you’d be gawking at St. Peter’s, ogling the Temple of Vesta, devouring saltimbocca in a trattoria, and sipping Sangiovese at a wine bar. You might not even get to the Snickers bar.

Breakfast in the house that I share with friends on Fire Island is always a treat and each weekend someone is bound to take the reigns and prepare a fabulous meal for all to devour. But being the chef can also be somewhat of a challenge, because all meals are judged using two important metrics.  The first is flavor profile and the cook’s ability to cohesively balance the flavors in each and every bite.  The other can be a little daunting and was labeled by my friend Paul as “the creative use of leftovers from the night before”.

Remember Genki in Buckhead? Well, they gave up half of their space to this new Italian restaurant/wine bar. Decor is the usual Buckhead type bar/restaurant — yellow walls, dark woods, shiny floors, cozy booths, not to mention a humongous patio which is great for people watching or catching some rays. They have a pretty long wine list and the usual beers (including Fat Tire). I was surprised by the pizzas which are actually pretty good — the crust is sweetish, thin, nicely charred.

Italy shuts down between 1 and 3 p.m. every day.  Even the restaurants and bars.  If you find yourself hungry at 1:30, forget about it.  You’d have better luck capturing a pigeon for lunch than finding an open restaurant. Thus was our predicament during one day of our vacation. Maybe it was poor planning on our part or the fact that the previous nights dinner still sat in our stomachs.  Whatever the excuse, hunger did not visit us until we were into the lunch-time blackout.
