This blogger has received startling data from a friend who shall remain nameless – data which shows that an American politician, known to all, is, in fact, AN ALIEN! Yes! Not only that, but he is an adherent of a religion sworn to undermine democracy! Yes! Despite having been born in a foreign country, this American politician occupies one of the highest offices in the land. Yes! I am of course speaking of Gavin Newsom , mayor of San Francisco.

Well, frumps, I’m afraid I have some very sad news to relay: Sir R. Allen Stanford doesn’t like jail one little bit. Sir Allen is in jail, in Texas, because he has been accused of running an $8 billion Ponzi scheme a la Maddoff.  Stanford was ordered to be jailed, without bond, because is deemed a flight risk. Stanford’s girlfriend, ex-wives, several mistresses and children swear that Sir Allen would never go on the lam because he’s such a “family man;” nevertheless the mean, old judge decided not to trust those family ties to keep Stanford around until his trial.

How public libraries can overcome budget cuts through cultural, educational, and business partnerships By Thomas Badgett                   In the current difficult economic times, libraries of all sizes and types face budget cuts, often quite severe. At the same time the need and demand for library services surges. In order to minimize cutbacks libraries need to play to their strengths and promote how much value they offer to anyone who chooses to use them.

Traveling to Eastern Europe soon? Well, this is some good tips that I saw over at eHow! 1. The time to visit Odessa is during the summer months when activity abounds at the water’s edge along the coast of the Black Sea. Flights to Odessa from the USA are fairly reasonable. Aerosvit, the Ukrainian Airlines has direct flights from Chicago to Odessa and you may find direct flights from other US cities at reasonable fares. You may find even cheaper fares flying direct to Kiev or Istanbul and then picking up a connecting flight on to Odessa.

While some visitors want to be within a stones through of the sea or beach, others prefer the peaceful retreat of the countryside.

Say hello to our 14th wedding this year- David and Melissa. A few notes right up front- I want to first apologize for the gargantuan size of this blog, this wedding turned out so great, I just couldn’t narrow it down enough. And I’m usually the photo slayer as Zach watches from the sidelines saying, “NOOOOOOO, I love that one,” as I mercilessly narrow down. So in my Mary Poppins lecture voice, I’ll say that I don’t want to hear any complaints about the size, because I already apologized! Besides the size, this blog also contains a lot of black and whites, which slightly strays from our normal, color popping photos.
