    so true

The price is quite reasonable given the amount of labor that goes into these dishes. Funny how the same person who complains about spending $250 for a four hour presentation of some of the finest food in the world, has no problem spending $80 on crap made by Mexicans at a chain restaurant.

I’m a local in S.F., and have been since the late fifties. THe best food I’ve tasted recently is the smoked trout salad at Bix, (and the prep is amazing) and also the Veal dish, in a french sauce with seafood. These are stellar dishes. And, of course, the upstairs booths are gorgeous. Classic. stuff. IF you want wonderful food very cheap, go to Panchitos on 16th St. just below Valencia, and order the chicken tamales and the chicken and cheese papusas….wow. Real food.

This place is very expensive, however is probably one of the finest resturants in the world. The price is $240 per person. Granted thats a lot of money for food. However you got to love these people that base resturant food on how much food they get. To them, the food can be just ok in taste just as long as it is served on a platter size plate and is enough for 4 people to eat. Maybe thats most of America is overweight. Ive tasted some of his food. It is amazing.

Did you look up every FL vid on YouTube just to post this same stuff?!

There are trolls here who will trash a place that has a great reputation just to listen to their own windbag. And there are trolls here who will trash a place they have never visited, even though they say they had.

Take your pick, but raku is one of them.

Do you want to do a stage at TFL?

Funny, I went to Gary Danko’s in S.F. got the private room for a party of 10, and it was one of my worse experience. The pre-fix menu was hit or miss, servers were great, but our private host was an ass.

I don’t think I could wait four hours to finish dinner. I also don’t think I could come up with two hundred and seventy dollars.

Wow! You posted this same remark more than once. He must have really pissed you off. Was he the ass or did your demeanor invoke the response? I think you might be a little on the high maintainance side. Just a thought.

We dined with a party of ten in Sept. 2006 and 2007. At our 2007 seating they forgot the promised birthday cake and 5 of the 9 dishes were the same as the previous year. When we emailed and asked them to vary the menu, Thomas Keller called us personally and said, “If you don’t like what I serve, don’t come.” We cancelled and will now dine at Gary Danko’s in S.F., a much better restaurant. French Laundry is SO not worth what they charge you.
