You can try something classy and different, and get friends, coworkers and family together at a wine tasting party, tasting different wines while learning about them. To begin planning your wine tasting party you must first determine how many people will be attending your party. About two weeks or so before the party, make sure you’ve gotten started sending out the invitations.

You can save a lot of time with a wine tasting kit that includes all the paraphernalia you need to get the ball rolling. If you prefer doing everything yourself you can make your own tasting cards that have the type of wine on it, the vineyard, the year and a description of the wine.

Your guests will need to take note of how the wine tastes and feels, so you can create cards for each one of them. You can double the fun by doing a blind tasting session, or forgoing the whole tasting card process and just having the guest write down what they think the wine is – ballpark figures for the year, and guessing which vineyard it came from, for instance.

The room will need to be properly lit in order to set the right mood. A simple table cloth is the most basic thing you need to decorate, though you can also add class with vintage items. You wouldn’t want to serve an entire glass of wine to your guests. Keep all your servings at two ounces, regardless of the wine or the person you’re serving the wine to.

When serving appetizers, or food to be eaten in between tastes, you can’t go wrong with plain bread or soda crackers. And of course, you would need wine glasses for everyone. Allot no more than two wine glasses for each guest. Finally, have some water ready for rinsing glasses, as well as a bucket where you can discard the wine after it’s been tasted.

Appetizers such as cheese, fruit or some other light treat is something that can be served either before or after the wine tasting party. Room temperature – you hear this a lot when talking wines, and this is how you should keep your wines to guarantee the best flavor. The final thing necessary for a wine tasting party is laughter and a good time had by everyone.

The quick absorption of nutrients is crucial in the dietary regimen of any athlete. After an exhausting workout, muscles are worn out and aching. They must be rested and replenished. Learn more about ZMA supplements, hemp seed protein powder and whey protein isolate review for restoring your body after exercise.

Leading wine magazine Decanter has given Ridgeview’s Grosvenor the award for the world’s best sparkling wine. The very best from the champagne competition was beaten by the international award winning fizz. The tipple was said to be “Very refined and refreshing palate… vivacious acidity, minerality, precision of flavour. Stunning.”

The family run estate that is Ridgeview Winery is located in the South of England, the owner admitting that it “bears an uncanny similarity to the Champagne region” of France. Founded by Michael and Christine Roberts, the pair had previously started and run a highly successful computer hardware and software business before founding the winery in 1994. After selling their computer business to a US company, they gave up the highly competitive world of IT for the equally competitive world of making fine wine; “The people”, however, “are much nicer”, says Mike.

While legally champagne can only be known as such if it is produced in the Champagne region of France, Sussex’s South Downs (where the Ridgeview Winery is located) are only a little further North themselves. Indeed, as with all their sparkling wines, Ridgeview’s Grosvenor is fermented with yeast specially prepared by the Institute nologique de Champagne.

Its characteristic Brioche breadiness, hinted at when the bottle is first opened and becoming more noticeable with ageing, accompanied by its distinctive fruit flavours and citrus characters make Ridgeview’s Grosvenor a scintillating tipple, these qualities only emphasised by its lovely fine mousse and beautiful gold colour. Don’t just take our (and Decanter magazine’s judges’) word for it, though!

The full range of Ridgeview Sparkling wines can be found here at Classic Wine Direct. And, if you’re not in the mood for something sparkling, we have an excellent range of other top quality wines, whether you fancy red, white or rose. It’s up to you!!

Having a bar in your home is a great way to create a social setting, which will encourage friends and family to come over and enjoy one another’s company. There is of course a slight stigma that is associated with bars, but the truth is that a bar can actually manifest itself in a variety of ways. You can have a juice bar, a soda bar, or even a regular bar, but done tastefully, so that it adds elegance to the home rather than detracting from it in any way. Tasteful drink coasters, napkins, and place mats can also help to increase the elegance of the setting.

There are many locations in the home where you can install a bar. If you have a large kitchen, setting up such a place will give people somewhere to sit and talk, chatting with one another and the chef while enjoying the savory smells of the space. You can also use a small corner of your dining room to set up this feature.

Another place you might have overlooked is the basemenet. One of the few requirements of a bar is that it should be situated in a space where it will be easy to clean up drips and spills. A carpeted living room can turn into a messy bar room rather quickly. However, most basements have concrete or stone flooring, which is resistant to stains and is relatively easy to clean, making this the ideal location for your own personal tavern.

The most important part of any bar is the bar top itself. You have a lot of options here. You can purchase a pre made setup that will require little installation and will be relatively easy. You can also have a custom bar installed in the space. The problem is that either of these options is going to be expensive.

You can also use a variety of make shift options if you want to try and keep costs low. In a pinch a buffet table covered in a nice table cloth, and set with a good stock of beverages can be used. You also have the option of taking a sheet or hardwood, or some planks, and building your own rustic style bar top.. You can cut the harsh unfinished look of this by staining the wood a nice color, and wreathing the blocks in Christmas lights, vines, or trails of flowers. Matching beverage coasters can be used to complete the look.

Of course the final step to complete a perfect bar is to stock it with a variety of tasty beverages. A mini fridge will also allow you to store cold drinks, such as juices and milk. Bottles can be arranged at the end of the bar, or can be placed on a table behind it. There are also display cases which can be purchased to organize your bottles.

Having a bar in your home is a wonderful luxury which can add a lot to the value and enjoyment of your house. There are many locations which are appropriate for such a feature, and once installed, there are a variety of ways to decorate and enhance the location using a variety of accessories, and the beverages themselves.

You should be starting stocking up on wine the way experts do it when you have a large collection of antique wines.
The temperature required for storing wines has to be cold at 12 to 16 degrees Celsius. Stocked under the bed isn’t right.
Most wines these days do not require to be aged for long periods so huge cellars aren’t that vital. It is of an advantage for your wines if you have the time, extra space and savings to build your cellar. You should be thinking of a substitute manner of storing wines as putting up cellar in a household may not be your thing.

Some of the areas at home that are perfect for wine safekeeping are the garage, garden shed, fireplace and cupboard.

No matter where you decide to keep your wines, some factors must be considered.

Opt for areas that are not prone to fluctuating temperatures caused by heating systems at your house.

It will make wines more delicious when kept in dim locations. Wines are basically best kept in areas not prone to sunlight.

Also, place wine bottles on their side. Corks are designed to keep humidity and avoid passage of air as well as shunning from being crushed when taken out with a corkscrew.

Take note that some wines do not have to be matured longer before being enjoyed. If you don’t have a wine cellar, you may buy wines that do not need to be stored for decades like white wines or modern red wines or a new Beaujolais.

Refrain from unnecessary transfers of wines from one place to another unless for a drinking purpose.

You can also try contacting a wine store to do the storage of your fancy wine collection. Companies provide storage services for wines nowadays because correct storage of wines has been deemed vital by experts. This means more expense though so having this service should only be made for special wine collection or for anyone who desires to sell the wines in the future for higher prices.

You shouldn’t be!
Gulp-worthy Bargain wines
Affordable wines that may cost lower without taking taste for granted are the blended ones. Chilean blends generally have the lowest costs although Australian blends are also good options. White and red wines of Australian blends are marketed by several producers. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chiraz make up the red wine while the white wine is composed of Semillon and chardonnay. Be guarded with these wines in the market if you’re after wines with lower costs.

The Spanish Rioja (both red and white) is another perfect choice for bargain wines. The Rioja is less fruity than the wines mentioned earlier so they are best paired with food.

Advantages of Bargain Wines

Sangria

A sizable amount of red wine is required in making sangrias. Using a posh red wine isn’t that necessary since a sangria is typically composed of red wine, sugar, fruit juice and spirits. This is how boxed wines come solo. Those in large boxes basically look fancy. Be sure to get the best quality fruit juice and affordable but fine wine so you won’t regret it.

Large Parties and Receptions

For large occasions, added costs are considered. As a basic rule, it would be more ideal to buy affordable but good quality white wine than the reds.

It will add to the boxed wine’s flavor if you blend it with a fine quality bottle of red wine. You can achieve a great amount of taste by blending the boxed wine with a fine bottle of red wine. The right decanters and serving carafes and your patience will make this attempt triumphant.

For the last part, choose your snacks properly. Simple potato chips won’t really help keeping the bargain wine a secret. Select a variety of cheeses to help bring out the flavor of even the cheapest wines.

Admittedly, one thing England isn’t necessarily known for is the wine. We’re big consumers of wine in the UK, particularly going for international wines as opposed to those produced in the UK. Despite the English’s lethargic adoption of their own wine, wine produced here has been classed as unique and excellent, overcoming criticisms that the social in the UK is far too acidic.

Whilst England might not have the climate that produces Italian, Spanish or French wines, the vineyards in places such as Sussex and Kent often produce yields comparable to those in France or Germany.

English wine has gradually built a reputation over the last few years as being interesting, unique and exciting; producing flavours distinctly different from the more traditional wine-producing nations. English vineyards produce some incredible grape varieties (including Pheonex, Bacchus and many more) which help them to stand apart from the more classic, traditional chardonnays.

English wine is also priced much more reasonably than some of the other international wines, purely because they haven’t had to import it. This allows you to buy high quality wine that compares to the classic varieties, whilst still saving considerable sums of money.

Ideal for the summer, English wine would make the perfect addition to any barbeque, with a myriad of both white and red wines available. It should be too difficult to find either, with many larger supermarkets and smaller bespoke wine stores now actively looking for English wine to stock in their stores. If you do find yourself struggling to find English produced wines to try, don’t forget you can always buy wine online. Purchasing wine through the internet can not only save you money (as online shops don’t have the same overheads as physical stores) but also enjoy a much larger variety of wines to choose from.

So the next time you’re looking for a bottle of wine to enjoy with friends, with dinner or just with a relaxing sunday afternoon, why not give English wine a go, you might even end up finding a new favourite tipple.

A wine collection deserves a right storage. Placing your wines the way they should be must be a priority if you are a wine collector. Whichever technique you choose take note that it’s vital to maintain stable conditions.
A wine storage has to maintain a temperature of 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The wine cellar must be remote from the house’s main area and be kept cool at all times. Too much shaking and too much light can likely damage the wine’s quality. Zero sunlight should be observed in the cellar.

A wine cellar or a wine cooler are smart ideas places for your wines. Wine racks are also imperative to your cellar. How you put up your wine cellar will depend on your personality, and you may have metal or wood wine racks. Both metal and wood are admirable to look at but the metal ones are bold and wood are simple.

It is a good thing to match the wine racks to the rest of the wine cellar. If you prefer to show your cellar with house guests then your wine storage designing will be affected by that. If you are then proper planning of a wine cellar should be done.

Therefore, look into wine racks and storage methods that will work together. Your wine cellar may be described as that of a trained wine collector. It isn’t a complex task though it can rip you off a little bit of money.

Your wine storage techniques are trouble-free. Some wines have to be chilled before anyone can enjoy sipping it. This is when wine coolers will be of great help to you. Wine coolers may be bought at department stores or wine stores. You can also find a lot of wine storage methods through the Internet.

There’s seems to be a strange trend at the moment for linking big-name celebrities with different wine varieties (and this includes both alive and dead celebrities). Just in the last ten years we’ve been treated to wines from Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, even Elvis Presley (and a whole host of others).

However these famous names, although lending their name and image to the bottle, rarely have anything to do with the actual production of any of the wines. That’s where Francis Ford Coppola sets himself apart from the rest of the so-called celebrity winemakers.

Not only does Coppola help produce the wine himself, he takes the whole thing very seriously. Coppola bought the Inglenook estate (or at least the majority of it) over 20 years ago, using the money from the success of The Godfather. Since this purchase in 1975, Coppola has played a pivitol role in the success and reputation of the Napa Valley as a wine-producing region, receiving a huge amount of acclaim for the wines he has produced there.

If you’re looking to try a bottle of Coppola’s wine, go for the wonderfully packaged Niebaum-Coppola collection which are not only phenomenally drinkable, but are so unique they would make fantastic wine gifts.

All of the wines in the collection are wonderfully drinkable, with each one offering its own individual collection of tastes. The red wines in the Coppola collection are rich, deep, full of fruit and will remind you of the top French wines. The whites are far more reminiscent of Spanish wine, particularly the more expensive varieties.

Coppola has probably the become the best known celebrity winemaker, although he’s by no means the only one to have made it into wine production. Other celebrity winemakers include sporting legends Shane Warne (cricketer), Ernie Els (golfer) and Greg Norman (golfer), as well as French actor Gerard Depardieu, who makes numerous excellent wines with acclaimed winemaker Alain Paret.

Get yourself and online and spend a bit of time searching and you’ll find some surprisingly good wines produced by international celebrities. If you’re going to try and sample just one of the celebrity ranges, you should definitely go for something from the Neibaum-Coppola range.
